The Merry Executioner Returns by Alyx J. Shaw
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This installment of the series had me on the edge of my seat more than once, and I'll admit that I cried more than once. I was honestly that caught up in the tale, and I've come to care that much about this assortment of marvelous people.
I really don't want to spoil this book for anyone, but I found the resolution of this story line refreshingly well done. Evil is defeated, yes, but not entirely, and that's a touch of veracity that I truly appreciate. There's happiness, sorrow and hope, and a small part of me hopes that Alyx Shaw will return to Dargoth one day, and let us know what comes next.

Morwen Navarre's life as a middle aged writer of erotic romance
About Me
- Morwen Navarre
- I've been writing since I could first hold a pencil, and by all accounts I didn't limit myself to paper. Walls, tablecloths and the occasional sibling were all fair game, and it shouldn't be surprising to learn that markers were banned in my home with all due haste. Although I now content myself with inconveniencing electrons, the desire to bring the stories in my mind to life hasn't waned. In my spare time, I read, putter in the kitchen, and relax on my terrace or at the lake, weather permitting, with my corgi who strives to be part muse, part food disposal. I'm also addicted to coffee and have a close relationship with my Keurig.

Coming home to Dargoth...
The White Palace Awakens by Alyx J. Shaw
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Returning to Dargoth felt like coming home, and I found myself staying up far later than I should have, unable to put this book down. This is such a gorgeously written world, and the characters that populate it are so vivid and real that I feel like they've become friends.
This novel brings out the talents and strengths of this disparate Court, and lets us see more of the intricacies of their loves and friendships. I'm looking forward to the third book, and I know I'll be moved to tears, and to laughter.
Just wonderful! :D
